About First Lady Washington

First Lady DiShan Washington, affectionately called Lady Di, is a native of Valley, Alabama. Married to Pastor Myrondous Washington since the age of 16, she decided that she would completely dedicate her life to the work of ministry. Having being raised by parents and grandparents who were Pastors, it was instilled in her early to have a relationship with the Lord.

Being a First Lady at the age of 17 came with its incredible challenges, but eleven years later, she's totally confident in whom God has called her to be.

A minister, author, and a nationally recognized playwright, she boldly proclaims the Word of the Lord without hesitation. Through significant challenges, a nervous breakdown, and many sleepless nights, First Lady Washington has overcome trials that most people her age would have succumbed too. She gives all the glory to God and realizes that it was no good of her own but only through the power of God is she able to do anything. On any given day you will find Lady Di being a wife to the lover of her life, assisting him in ministry, working on a new book or play, or simply bonding with the ladies of Agape Global Church. She serves as the Executive Director of Ministries at AGC, and is loved by those around her.

With a passion for writing since the fifth grade, DiShan Washington has soared to many heights in the literary world. Beginning her writing career as a playwright, she went on to become nationally known for her works, such as: I Can If I Want To, Everything that Look Good, Ain't Good For You, Let Go & Let God, Is Love Supposed to Hurt?, and others. These plays were often sold out to many audiences, in various places across the country.

Desiring to take her career to a new level, in 2004, she self-published her first novel, "Up High, Down Low, Too Slow". People across the nation raved at her ability to address the controversial subject of the “down low brothers”, and use the smokescreen of entertainment to do it. However, not having the proper education, training or mentorship to fully dive into the genre of Christian fiction, she became frustrated, and decided to give up on furthering her career as a writer. But, God had another plan.

In 2007, she met Victoria Christopher Murray, who took a personal interest in assisting her, with developing and honing her craft. From this mentorship, the novel, "The Diary of a Mad First Lady" evolved. Ms. Murray, a national, best-selling author, has endorsed DiShan as being one of the breakout writers for 2008.

While many may know her as a fashionista diva, First Lady Washington is also a powerful motivational speaker. Having spoken on major platforms to women and men alike, her ability to cross the borders and boundaries of gender and age, often leaves her audience wanting to hear more.

Contrary to her humble demeanor and personality, Lady Di is also referred to as a preaching dynamite. She has conducted and preached at many women's conferences and events across the Southeast. Within her core lies her personal testimony of endurance, and she ministers with power and conviction, a message that leave all who listen, hope that they too, can survive.

Some of her most popular messages include: Finally, How to Praise in the Valley, Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around, Don't Count Me Out, and I'm a Survivor.

With a special anointing of exhortation, Lady Di continues to uplift all of those who are blessed to come into her presence. You can visit her online at: http://www.dishanwashington.com.
