In 1997, God began to speak to Pastor Myrondous Washington about birthing a ministry that would exemplify His unconditional love, but, this ministry was aborted many times over by the fear of failure.
Finally, after Pastor Washington completed other ministry assignments, with little to no capital, a few supporters, and a vision to change the world through teaching the Agape (unconditional) love of God; Agape Temple had its first service Sunday, January 1, 2006, at the location of Messiah’s Temple Christian Ministries, in Austell, Georgia. With over three hundred worshippers in attendance, this monumental day birthed one-hundred twenty charter members who committed themselves to carrying out the vision and kingdom agenda for this ministry. In October 2007, Agape experienced a need for a larger space. After much prayer for direction, the ministry moved into the Westlake High School theatre located in Atlanta, Georgia, in the South Fulton (Camp Creek) area.
In December 2007, the Lord spoke to Pastor Washington about Agape’s global mission, which was to include planting ministries across the world. In this encounter, Pastor was instructed to rename the church to Agape Global Church. This name change became effective in February 2008.
Agape Global Church has experienced rapid growth since its inaugural service and has quickly become one of the fastest growing ministries in Southwest Atlanta. As a result of this growth and God’s blessings, we have begun the initial stages of our building campaign, with plans to break ground in 2008.
At AGC, we have more than 20 ministries that are designed to assist and meet the needs of our people. We regularly witness the saving of souls, the changing of lives, the restoration of relationships, the healing of the sick, and the love of God being exemplified. We stand in awe of the manifestations of God, and we anticipate the work that He plans to do through us throughout the globe.
